But i...Yeah, that's how I felt about Dana too. But if she had been plotting all the time, and being subversive and fighting every minute, the way I wanted her too, it would probably have quickly become unrealistic...I'm glad that at least she did get to educate some of the kids a little bit.Charlottehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15750715350958105088noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1265120169320473011.post-74674229450813044972009-09-30T04:43:51.094-05:002009-09-30T04:43:51.094-05:00This book was a real challenge for me -- I wanted ...This book was a real challenge for me -- I wanted to hate Rufus, too, and that horrible sense of ...resignation and depression that Dana embodied -- ugh. Ugh, ugh, ugh. And yet, she was there because if she DIDN'T save her own relative, there would be no her, perhaps. But, what an ugly relative, with no redeeming characteristics. And what a terrifying thing to watch, as your boyfriend morphs into... the enemy. I listened to this novel, too, and trust me, somehow it's worse as an audiobook. It was just plain scary and challenging and hard. But addictive, because Ms. Butler could write the heck out of a story. I wish she'd had more time to write.tanita✿davishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01671822274852087499noreply@blogger.com
