I thought it was excellent and also really enjoyed how Fleming was able to interweave the stories of everyday Russians and WW1 into the narrative. I was a little disappointed that she didn't go into more of what happened after (to the bodies - like are there any theories as to why the youngest two children were buried in a different spot as everyone else?), but as the book was already getting a bit long, I can understand.
