For some reason this is marketed for tweens but it is definitely a young adult book (as I found out when my 10 year old brought it home from school on her reading list - thanks for that one teacher)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1265120169320473011.post-32018350051166854712015-04-22T01:50:32.877-05:002015-04-22T01:50:32.877-05:00It’s amazing in support of me to truly have a web ...It’s amazing in support of me to truly have a web site that is valuable meant for my knowledge.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00236828425536782327noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1265120169320473011.post-41316356378568187232011-05-12T03:17:41.304-05:002011-05-12T03:17:41.304-05:00fucken awsome bookfucken awsome bookAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1265120169320473011.post-24458687356631188582011-05-12T03:17:41.305-05:002011-05-12T03:17:41.305-05:00this book is one of they best book ever and must r...this book is one of they best book ever and must read. it is a bout this australian girl name abigal and cool things happen in this freaken awsome book.sachinnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1265120169320473011.post-11194203631394136572011-05-10T04:43:01.743-05:002011-05-10T04:43:01.743-05:00Yes, anon., I agree that this is one that packs a ...Yes, anon., I agree that this is one that packs a big emotional punch!Charlottehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11835101886202235868noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1265120169320473011.post-41550177115307556622011-05-09T12:46:11.209-05:002011-05-09T12:46:11.209-05:00P.S. Would love to read it again sometime as I borrowed it from the school library. It is with growing shame that I admit that I've never read any Ruth Park! A very poor showing for an Australian reader of childrens books, or probably even for an Australian reader... Am planning to get to this one sometime this year-thanks for your great review I'm looking forward to it even more now.Louisehttp://astrongbeliefinwicker.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1265120169320473011.post-52927420977895737352011-01-28T02:42:00.263-05:002011-01-28T02:42:00.263-05:00I read this way back in grade eight, when I dislik...I read this way back in grade eight, when I disliked all school books on principle. I don't think I even noticed it was Australian -- just that it was foreign, which I think mostly meant English to me back then. You might enjoy The Harp in the South or Poor Man's Orange. I adored them as a romantic teen, and they make Sydney slums really come to life - vivid, dirty, exciting and scary. Fabulous descriptions of the tensions of poverty and family life. Definitely not for young children though, and definitely not fantasy.Penthehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11200896933898936176noreply@blogger.com
