This Week's Roundup of Middle-Grade Fantasy and Science Fiction from around the blogsphere

Here's what I gleaned middle-grade fiction-wise from around the blogosphere this week. Please let me know if I missed your post, and I'll add it to the list when I get back home this evening!

The list of books nominated for the Andre Norton Award is as follows, and includes two middle grade books:

Hotel Under the Sand, Kage Baker (mg)
Ice, Sarah Beth Durst
Ash, by Malinda Lo
Eyes Like Stars, Lisa Mantchev
Zoe’s Tale, John Scalzi
When You Reach Me, by Rebecca Stead (mg)
The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland In A Ship Of Her Own Making, Catherynne M. Valente
Leviathan, Scott Westerfeld

I've read all but two; the ones I've read are all very good!

  1. I follow Scalzi's blog and he's crazy funny. Or funny crazy. I haven't decided which. But I will have to put Zoe's tale on my TBR. I have Leviathan waiting on my nook...my 11 year old is reading it before me!

  3. Thanks for the link, Charlotte!

ZOE'S TALE is on my TBR. I've actually got it and really would love to get to it soon.

  4. Aha! I've read Zoe's Tale and liked it. As I think has come up before in Kidlitosphere, there isn't a very good sci-fi selection for kids/teens.

  5. I reviewed a bunch of MG fantasy (from my Cybil's reading), but loved The Farwalker's Quest the best.
