A list of elementary and middle grade speculative fiction books that haven't been nominated for the Cybils yet

Looking for a book to nominate in the elementary/middle grade speculative fiction category of the Cbyils?  Here's a somewhat random list of books that haven't been nominated yet (with the disclaimer that I haven't read most of them, and the further disclaimer that some might actually belong in YA).

Something to think about -- diversity isn't one of the criteria by which we pick our shortlists, but of course the chances of the short list including diverse books are improved when lots of great diverse books are nominated.

The Four Seasons of Lucy McKenzie, by Kristy Murray

Dragon on Trial, by Tui T. Sutherland and Kari Sutherland

The Fairy-Tale Matchmaker, by E.D. Baker

The Demon Notebook, by Erika McGann

Sky Run, by Alex Shearer

The Carpet People, by Terry Pratchett

The Twin Powers, by Robert Lipsyte

The Broken Spell, by Erika McGann

The Doll People Set Sail, by Ann M. Martin and Laura Godwin

The Black Stars, by Dan Krokos

The Emerald Shore, by Barbara Mariconda

Blood of Olympus, by Rick Riordan

The Junkyard Bot, by C.J. Richards

Heap House, by Edward Carey

Fall of Heroes, by Jeramey Kratz

  1. Trying to follow this up with DIVERSITY for the Cybils - yeah, it's more work than it should be. *sigh*
