At the left is the pile as of Jan 1, at right March 1. Although I read 16 tbr pile books (owned books, not review copies) out of the 73 books I've read so far this year, it did not make an appreciable dent, thanks to birthday present books, finding more tbr books around my house, and bringing some up from my mother's house that I'd stashed there, and a book sale whose timing and location were to convinient to pass up. Onward.
Well, I can see some stacks did get a little shorter. May the coming months bring you even further towards your goal!
ReplyDeletethanks!
DeleteHmmm. I have solved part of the problem by never reading older books. Or adult books. Or anything but upcoming, #MGLit, and only about half the fantasy. Sure, the piles are smaller, but is it the right thing to do? Questioning everything I know, now, but that's probably more the lack of sleep than your post. Soldier on!
ReplyDeleteI think I would feel to much not like myself if I gave up on mid 20th century books! But the struggle is real...
DeleteHa ha ha ha! I would never intimidate myself by putting all my TBRs in one place! (Actually I can't, because so many of them are electronic.) Also I refuse to guilt myself about reading. But hey, I think you've made a ton of progress in a couple of months!
ReplyDeleteI felt I had to Take Steps. Once I get this pile done, I will unveil the "tbr shelf" and the "tbr pile on the floor of the laundry room." Sigh. At least I'm enjoying the books!
